Career Summary:
Megan (King) Chandler was a multi-sport athlete at Hermitage Springs School, where she was a generational talent who starred in basketball and softball from 2002 to 2006. Chandler was a starter in both sports each year of her decorated career.
As a freshman in basketball, Chandler led the Lady Wildcats in assists and was a member of the All-Tri Lakes team. Her sophomore season she led her team in scoring, assists, and free throw percentage. She earned All-District 7-A 2nd Team as a junior, before making All-District 7-A 3rd Team as a senior, and was named the MVP of her team each of those years. Chandler finished her career with a reported 1,340 points, and will be remembered as one of the best Lady Wildcats to have ever worn the uniform.
Chandler excelled as a pitcher on the softball diamond at Hermitage Springs. Right out of the gate she was named the All-Tri Lakes Freshman team MVP and earned a spot on the District 7-A All-Tournament Team. As a sophomore she led the entire district with her abilities and was named the District 7-A MVP, again made the All-Tournament Team, and earned a spot on the Middle TN Softball Coaches Class A-AA All-Midstate Team. Chandler garnered all-conference honors again as a junior. The four Lady Wildcat teams she played on advanced to three region tournaments, and won one district championship.

“Megan loved playing ball, she loved her teammates, and she loved her school. She was blessed with athletic talent and she made the most of it. We appreciate her being considered as a member of the Clay County Sports Hall of Fame.
